The challenges of the Arab world in the Forum of Paris III

September 24, 2012

Based on what the "Arab Spring" has created developments and changes, the Euro-Arab Center for Studies has organized on 18.9.2012 the "Forum of Paris III" an international colloquium in the French Capital, entitled « The Arab world facing the internal and international challenges » where a group of thinkers, politicians and researchers of the Arab world and the countries of the European Union, China, Russia, Turkey and Iran participated, and also nearly 250 people from Arab and Western nations were present.
The colloquium raised four chapters for the dialogue that were the internal challenges of the Arab world in political, economic, social media, cultural and security level and the regional challenges of the Arab world in order to put in term the role of Turkey, Iran and Israel, and the international challenges related to conflict that occurs between the West on the one hand and Russia and China on the other hand, and the last meeting was devoted only to discuss the initiative of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz, who has called for the creation of the Federation of Gulf initiative and this has no implications on the Arab situation now.
It is normal that the situation in Syria is affected by the attention of most of the participants and presenters in which analyzes and readings are varied, but they remained in the scientific and objective setting away from the tensions experienced by the Arabic street today.
The nuclear file has been at the forefront and even the regional role played by Turkey and the international role played by China and Russia.
It seems that there are two points of view:
The first point of view is represented by some Arab and European countries and Turkey, and supports the "Arab Spring" and there as variables that responded to their notice the movement of the street that has suffered from poverty, disease, corruption and unemployment, and also it is support the revolutions to achieve their goals that the support its a result and not a cause of displacement that took place in Egypt , Tunisia, Libya and Yemen, and is happening in Syria today.
The second point of view was expressed by speakers of Iran, China and Russia, which considered that the popular movement was logical but we cannot ignore the role of the West in this area and in particular the United States is said by those views, it made preparations for the crisis for years to popular uprisings in Arab education of the next generation on how to use Facebook and other social networks to organize protests or rallies or raise slogans that may cause the most public.
It was noted that the positions expressed by the people who are responsible for the two points of view are not tactics and can be negotiated where it has been any solution to any crisis, but it’s the positions that clearly express the transformation of a new strategy that threatens to divide the world into two parts: the West and its allies Arabs and Turkey on the one hand and the other represented by China, Russia and its allies Iran and some Arab and some countries of Latin America.
What the speakers and participants will agree on is that the Syrian crisis is long because nor the system is able to recover his authority nor the opposition can maintain authority. This means that more blood would be shed. The other agreement which the speakers and participants agreed on is that the new authorities which have been formed in the countries of the "Arab Spring" does not have the magic wand to solve the social and economic crises, which means that the imbalance atmosphere will remain the master of the situation, with what may be accompanied by public objections and criticisms.
Whatever the current situation of the Arab world, its background and future implications of the "Arab Spring", the importance of this conference is that it brought together on the same table the parties to the conflict to discuss regional and international in clear way without need to wear gloves hoping that depth so that it can be able to solve the solution instead of armed conflict.
