Greek parliament lifts immunity of six Golden Dawn lawmakers

October 25, 2013

The Greek Parliament voted to lift the immunity of 3 Golden Dawn MP’s, paving the way for a deeper investigation into accusations that the movement's members were involved in criminal offences.

Parliament has also lifted the immunity of three other members of this party, already indicted for the same crime, but will be this time sued for crimes related to violence charged to Golden Dawn.

At the opening of the session, one of the deputies denounced "a conspiracy against his party."
The parliamentary vote was decided following a request by the prosecutor of the Supreme Court who leads the investigation against Golden Dawn, and which began after the murder of antifascist rapper Pavlos Fyssas by a Golden Dawn activist.
