MEPs in Iran

An official delegation of MEPs began since few days visit to Tehran. Discussions are held with several politicians, opponents and advocates of human rights.
 "The differences between us are clearly visible, it comes from the culture, you cannot deny the importance of culture. Here in Iran all the measures we take are in agreement with the Iranian religion and culture. "Nine members of 290 are women, said an Iranian MPs.
Several meetings have already been held, particularly with the lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh, co-winner in 2012 with filmmaker Jafar Panahi's Sakharov Prize, awarded by the European Parliament for human rights activists.

One of the European Parliament said: I think the fact that women formed a part for them in parliament is seen as their own group, they argue, do research, it is an evolution in society, but we must know that Iran is a conservative society.

This is the first visit for representatives of the European Parliament in Tehran seven years ago and comes after the signing of the nuclear deal between Iran and the 5 +1 group in Geneva, it was canceled last year at an official visit of the delegation of the European Parliament after Iran refused to allow the meeting of Jafar Panahi and Nasrin Sotoudeh, who were imprisoned.
