PRINCESS Elisabeth, the 12-year-old daughter of Belgium's new king, has been threatened with kidnapping.

“I am going to kidnap princess Elizabeth. It not a joke”, - so began the letter which has come on Monday to La Derniere Heure newspaper editorial office addressed to the Belgian king Philippe. The first half of the letter is written in German, and the second - in French.

The publication said it had notified the police and the royal palace.

The police of Belgium apprehended threat to the young successor of a throne extremely seriously, the letter original already withdrew from edition and investigate on existence of fingerprints and DNA. The school to which the princess goes, is already taken under the strengthened protection by police. Also to Elizabeth will provide additional bodyguards.

The anonymous letter contains about "hate towards foreigners." The author criticizes the King Philip, who succeeded his father Albert II  in July and his government,  of "doing nothing".
In early 2009, an unknown had threatened in a letter already sent  the newspaper threading to assassinate  Queen Fabiola, widow of King Baudouin.
